Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Reaching New Tops

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Reaching New Tops

Litecoin

Litecoin continues to entertain support at the level of ~$3.60. Consequently, LTC/BTC exchange rates reached 0.081 BTC and isn't going to grow. From the point of technical analysis of the chart, we can see a "flag" with entry from above, which means that a following downward exit is more probable. Nevertheless, one more splash in the course of Bitcoin can spoil the whole game again.

DASH

DASH doesn't cease to surprise - it has grown from 0.06 till 0.07 in one single day! Now its price is 0.063, as the sharp movement up demanded future corrections. It seems that buy orders should be rearranged to the level slightly lower than 0.06. However, traders don’t want to sell their coins so cheap.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin decided to stand away from sharp movements and can be traded for 30-31 Satoshi so far. However, last night’s Dogecoin price was 29 Satoshi again, which was a great time to close orders with profit.

ETH

ETH continues to develop its movement within an uptrend. When the price goes lower than 0.02 it is worth looking for opportunities to place buy orders.

Peercoin

Peercoin is trending down. If Bitcoin falls even a little we will see the Peercoin price below the level of $0.40 due to the PPC/BTC exchange rates going lower than 0.001 (and even as low as 0.0094 - 0.0095).
It seems that traders were bothered by Peercoin, but of course when the price falls, more people consider placing buy orders, so builds interest in this cryptocurrency. Unfortunately today's level of $0.41 - $0.42 doesn't seem a good price for buyers at all.

Neucoin

Neucoin reaches all time highs as it reached $12 for 1000 Neucoin yesterday, while it was $11 for 1000 Neucoin only one day before. It might be that $10 will become a resistance level soon.
The analysis and prognosis are the personal views of the author and are not a recommendation to buy or sell Bitcoins.

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: The Last Week Of The Year – Waiting For Surprises

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: The Last Week Of The Year – Waiting For Surprises

Litecoin

This is the last week of 2015, thus the coming weekend will already belong to the year 2016. The behavior of any cryptocurrencies can be unexpected now, and the market is ready to give out surprises.
So far, it is not about Litecoin, which continues its painfully slow movement in the range of $3.40 - $3.60. The previous boundaries of the price corridor of $3.20 - $3.80 were narrowed, that is caused not by definiteness in the movement of Bitcoin’s price. Meanwhile the exchange rates of the LTC:BTC pair made a start from 0.008 and reached 0.0084 for a short period. We must watch closely the behavior of the LTC:BTC pair as a lot of things depend on whether it will be possible to keep the level 0.008 again.

DASH

The decrease of the DASH price from a local top of 0.007 slowed down at the level of 0.065, thus the price hardly moves lower than 0.0063. Everything speaks to the power of DASH, but it is not the time to speak about a possible turn or even a stop of the down trend.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin generously rewarded its supporters as it rose to 33 Satoshi, or 10% higher in two days, and it has a good trading volume! The top of 35 Satoshi allowed traders to close deals with good profit. Perhaps, the price will be corrected above the level 30 of Satoshi, but not below it, therefore the relevance of purchases lower than 30 Satoshi only grew.

ETH

ETH heroically hangs on to the level of 0.002. This level defines whether we seen a turn in the trend or the movement downward continues. For almost two weeks the price was at the level of 0.002 and below. It wouldn't be desirable to upset anyone but we see on the chart that each successive top is lower than the previous. And during the two previous weeks the ETH price was below the level of 0.002 most of the time.

Peercoin

Peercoin returned to the level of $0.40, and purchases lower than this level still remain favorable. At the level of $0.41 and a little below it many traders decide to take profit impatiently.
It is an important factor now that the PPC:BTC pair returned from the level of 0.0009 to the level of 0.00095-0.00097, which gives us hope of seeing a 0.001 exchange rate soon.

Neucoin

Neucoin presented a pleasant surprise to traders – an opportunity to make a purchase at a price below $8 for 1000 Neucoin. Then the price fought like a bird in a cage, between $8 and $8.5 for 1000 Neucoin, repeatedly crossing the level of $8.5. Good try, Neucoin!

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Chain of Interconnected Events

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Chain of Interconnected Events

Litecoin

Today Litecoin achieves a new price corridor of $3.50-3.80. Yesterday, Litecoin reached both the ceiling and the floor of this price corridor, and it is now somewhere in the middle. Bitcoin price is experiencing corrections and LTC to BTC exchange rates are 0.008-0.082. Thus 0.008 promises to become quite good as a resistance level.

DASH

DASH reached the lower limit of 0.0056, and this level again confirmed the reputation of steady resistance. DASH’s price made a slow start from this level but it is too early to speak about future upward trends.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin price updated a local minimum, having reached 28 Satoshi. Having made a start from a new bottom, the price jumped up back to 30 Satoshi. However, such a tendency can turn the level of 30 Satoshi from support level into resistance.

ETH

Now no one will be able to accuse ETH of indifference to technical analysis. Yesterday we saw a good trend, and today we see a beautiful flag on the chart. According to the theory, it is more probable to have an exit up now. Thus, the level of 0.002 is more important than ever as by reaching it the upward trend will be over, and a descending flag of price corrections should appear.

Peercoin

Peercoin left the level of $0.44 and moved to $0.42, while the exchange rate of Peercoin vs. Bitcoin decreased to 0.00094-0.00096. The Peercoin price usually doesn’t show strong activity, thus we shouldn’t expect it to return to 0.001 soon. Which means that if the price of Bitcoin falls, we can expect Peercoin to move lower than $0.40. It is worth watching the exchange rates of PPC to BTC, as it’s continuous decrease will tell about disbelief of Peercoin miners, and concerns about its falling further.

Neucoin

Neucoin continues it’s decline. Now its price is about $9.50 for 1000 Neucoin, and daily trading volumes are ridiculous. If this trend continues, it is worth it to place orders below $8.00.

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Holding On

Daily Altcoin Price Analysis: Holding On

Litecoin

Today all cryptocurrencies use all their forces to hold on the levels they have already reached. Litecoin grows slowly, and tries to reach the upper bound of a corridor of $3.50 - $3.80 as Bitcoin exceeded its level of $450. The Litecoin vs. Bitcoin exchange rate of 0.008 confirmed its reputation of being a good resistance, and now Litecoin is on 0.0081 with a tendency to decrease.

DASH

DASH holds on to the level of 0.0056. And the longer it is on this level, the sharper its move will be afterwards.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin gradually moves under the level of 30 Satoshi, which has already become a resistance level. In comparison with yesterday’s situation, Dogecoin shows no futher development.

ETH

Even ETH has stopped its sharp movements. Now ETH must hold on to the reached level of 0.002, or it will continue a trend down, perhaps even setting a new price bottom.

Peercoin

Peercoin is in the same place as it was yesterday – about $0.42-0.43. It’s exchange rate against Bitcoin is also the same at 0.0094-0.0095.

Neucoin

Neucoin’s price fluctuates in the range of $8.25 up to $9.25 today.

Dash’s 2nd Birthday: We Are Complementary To Bitcoin, Not A Competitor

Dash’s 2nd Birthday: We Are Complementary To Bitcoin, Not A Competitor
On the 2nd birthday of Dash, CoinTelegraph spoke to Evan Duffield, the founder and lead developer of the Dash Project (formerly Darkcoin), to talk about the 2 years of this dashing journey.
CoinTelegraph: Evan, congratulations on Dash completing two years.
Evan Duffield: Thank you, it’s been a very exciting two years. So much has happened during the two years, it seems pretty amazing. We managed to develop the masternode concept, along with instant transactions, privacy, funding and governance. I’m pretty happy with the progress that we’ve made.
CT: What was your vision for Dash when you founded it? Now two years later, do you think you have achieved what you set out to do with Dash?
ED: When I originally discovered Bitcoin in early 2010, one of my original concerns was that the platform of cryptocurrency is giant and the Bitcoin developers were only focusing in a very small area of what was possible. My first thought was to add some core-features to the Dash client, such as anonymity, then to explore the potential of the cryptographic currency platform and see what other kinds of features could be created.
Since then, we’ve managed to implement a new kind of peer-to-peer network known as a two-tier network, which fully incentivizes full-node operators. Using the masternode network concept (also known as a two-tier network), we’ve been able to implement a great feature set for our users such as instant double-spend proof transactions, transactional privacy, decentralized funding and decentralized governance. The project has been a great success over the past couple of years and I’m quite happy with the progress we’ve made.
CT: In the two years since you founded Dash, what do you think has changed in the cryptocurrency market- both for the better and the worse?
ED: During the past two years, there has been a great awakening of the general public to the power of cryptographic currency for solving many of the problems with the legacy banking system, along with an understanding that this technology is not a fad. This is quite important because Bitcoin defies some principles in classic economic theory, mainly concerning where the value of money comes from. The longer that Bitcoin and other cryptographic currencies survive, the more merit we have of disproving this old theory and possibly replacing it with another theory that is better suited for explaining the value of money and why a network such as the Bitcoin network can maintain its value when many originally thought it wouldn’t. This is great for long term adoption, as it will take a shift in the academic mindset in order to convince the general population that these technologies are safe to use.
Evan Duffield, creator of Dash
CT: What do you think puts Dash at an advantage when compared to other cryptocurrencies?
ED: Dash has a lot of advantages when it is compared to other digital currencies. We’ve tried to make a system that will be attractive to people outside of cryptocurrency. People are used to instant authorization of payments and not waiting for confirmation when it comes to using legacy banking systems such as credit cards and other checkout processes. We know that these in reality take days to settle, but to the user, it seems instant. By actually allowing instant transactions on our network we can do things that no other cryptocurrency can do, such as our InstantX soda machine that will debut at Bitcoin Miami. It allows you to buy soda for Dash in less than 4 seconds, in a way that you can’t double spend the transaction.
CT: Dash's value went up 20% instantly after the integration with Lamassu was announced. Does Dash plan to integrate with more BTM companies in the future?
ED: Yes, our business development team is always looking for further partnerships within the Bitcoin space, including integrating with other BTM companies. Our strategy however is not simply to integrate into as many BTM companies as possible, but to offer more opportunities to get into the Dash ecosystem as easily as possible from the fiat world.
CT: You earlier talked about 'Dash Evolution'. Would you like to tell our audience more about this evolution of Dash? What can we expect from Dash in 2016?
ED: Sure, in the Dash project we’ve taken the last couple of years to work out features that the general public will expect in a cryptographic currency and feel comfortable using it, such an instant transactions that act similar to that of a PoS system (like buying something from a vendor using a credit card, with nearly instant authorization) and privacy being that the transactions are stored publicly on a global ledger. We also have been working on scalability of the second tier and governance, so that issues don’t crop up as we begin to grow our user base. Now that we’re in a position to start serving users, we want to make a new system that is more familiar to people outside of the cryptocurrency world. Features such as logging onto the network with usernames, adding friends, pay-to-alias (where you just type your friend's name rather than a base58 address) and pay-with-dash buttons, that allow merchants a seamless experience where the network facilitates the entire checkout process. With easy to use features like this, we aim to provide services to those that don’t really understand cryptocurrency by hiding all of the complexity.
CT: Do you see Dash as a direct competitor to Bitcoin?
ED: No, the Bitcoin project and the Dash project are going down separate paths as far as I am concerned. I see the Bitcoin project as being a global settlement ledger for high value trade, due to it’s high power network and extensive mining infrastructure. It can be the reserve currency of the cryptocurrency space and the one used mainly to store value, as a sort of digital gold. However, the Dash project, with it’s focus on instant-transactions, privacy and ease of use will favor low value fast transactional trade such as peer-to-peer commerce in ways that the Bitcoin network can not. I don’t see the two projects competing for the same piece of the pie.
I view the alt coin market as an experimental place to build new technologies. Technologies that are adventurous and extremely promising, but also technologies that are too unproven to be implemented into the Bitcoin network directly. We feel someone has to show the power of alternative configurations of cryptographic currency and the merits of each design. After which, those projects will benefit from being used by the general public if they’re successful and even possibly merged into the Bitcoin project after they’ve been proven. The Dash project is no exception to this, we are just a complementary project to the Bitcoin project and hope to bring to light some of the possibilities of this technology.

Bitcoin Is Not A Sprint, It's A Marathon (Op-Ed)

Bitcoin Is Not A Sprint, It's A Marathon (Op-Ed)
The first time I heard about Bitcoin I wasn't very impressed. As an anarchist with an Austrian economic background, it didn't make much sense to me right away. I was hard pressed on the collection of precious metals - after all, I had studied the likes of Rothbard and the great gold standard.
But when I began to research the integrity of the Bitcoin protocol I had become more addicted to learning about it. I spent hours of my evenings trying to figure out where the value came from. Its regression as far as Mises was concerned and all the great economists. Little did I know at that time the answers to questions such as value and regression were much simpler than I had expected.
Its value can rightly be regressed back to its users giving substance and trust to its algorithmic equation; to the encryption itself. Users of the network trust that bitcoins cannot be digitally printed out of thin air. Trust in these algorithmic equations can be said for the same trust in physical space atomic equations. Meaning we believe that no human or alchemist can produce gold and silver out of thin air.

Bitcoin Fever

I had finally got it. Now I was still in the Bitcoin fever of it all. The Bitcoin bug had bitten me. I was all over the place after this. I saw that Bitcoin could cure many of societies ailments and not just the financial sector, every sector. From financial, political and social. Bitcoin can bring about new ideas of autonomous governance. Like using the blockchain for identification purpose and reputation.
Organizations and corporate entities could be built on top of the ledger as well. Trusts, escrows, land deeds and future markets. Remittances could be lower than ever in history. For mere pennies, you can send millions of dollars from one side of the globe to the other.
Third world communities could use this tool. The people who don't have access to the common banking system could now become banked. We could crowdsource anyone in a matter of moments. Let's say a small tribe needs better access to clean water, maybe build an aqueduct. We can fund that now with bitcoin.
I've suddenly smashed head first into the overwhelming part of the sickness. What can't Bitcoin solve?
I now figured I've been down the path of utter Bitcoin utopian bliss. Might as well go down the other end of the rabbit hole. Let's find the weaknesses.

The Hurdles of Bitcoin

Does Bitcoin solve the Byzantine Generals problem? Isn't that the holy grail of Bitcoin? Slowly sliding down the elements of weakness I question everything. What's all this centralized mining talk? Research on the 51% hack and that evil witch, the Sybil attack.
My fundamentals are crumbling now. Bitcoin isn't anonymous you know, it's pseudo-anonymous. And suddenly I'm rooting for the altcoin space. Go Proof-of-Stake! That will distribute better. Go Darkcoin, I mean Dash. Go Monero! Those coins will bring anonymity.
But something's missing now. I've realized I've gone too far. This can happen when you get deeply infused in the crypto space. While all the while looking at all the different aspects, both positive and negative, in the Bitcoin world, I forgot about the most important thing - the standard.
Bitcoin has changed the standard. It's had massive and beautiful network effect that has changed the paradigm to a new standard. While looking at all the many wonderful things Bitcoin has yet to offer, sometimes we forget that it's early, and concentration on the standard itself is key.

The New Standard

Bitcoin has yet to see mass adoption, and we are already talking blockchain octopus theories. We need to continue to get 'use to' the new standard of money. That's not getting used to blockchain technology without bitcoin. This is how far ahead of ourselves we have gotten. We're now talking two separate things. How can we push the simple idea of common adoption while our heads are lost in the land of smart contracts and Ethereum?
There is no network effect or standard bigger than Bitcoin in crypto-land. The blockchain is Bitcoin. We need to focus back on the basics. People are still not handling wallets correctly and keeping them secure. Less than 6 % of wallet users use multisig.
We need to continue to spread why Bitcoin is important. Tell people that it does all the things mentioned above without the need for a third party. Especially cutting out the costs of the middleman.
Its the simpler things I think we need to regress to. We have to remind ourselves that Bitcoin is the first, and largest distributed consensus record mastered in digital real time. It's not going to be an overnight success.
As it's been said to me in the Bitcoin world many times, I will say it to you all. This isn't a sprint people. It's a marathon.
